
Hyunilo Anilo Khing inaugurating a new cricket practice
pitch in memory of the founding members of OMCC in Mangkolemba on Tuesday.
- DIMAPUR — The Old
Medical Cricket Club (OMCC) celebrated its silver jubilee on Tuesday at the
Town Hall, Mangkolemba, in the presence of distinguished guests, club members,
and cricket enthusiasts, with Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary of the
Nagaland Cricket Association, as the chief guest.
- Speaking on the occasion, Khing discussed the journey of
Nagaland cricket under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who led
Nagaland to become a full member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI) in 2018.
- This milestone, he said, marked the beginning of
professional cricket in Nagaland and created opportunities for local players to
participate in prestigious BCCI tournaments. He commended OMCC for its
commitment to cricket and its efforts in nurturing talent over the past 25
years.
- During the event, Khing inaugurated a new cricket practice
pitch in memory of the founding members of OMCC, established under the aegis of
the Nagaland Cricket Association. He also released a commemorative memento.
- In his exhortation, T Longri Longkumer, Advisor of OMCC,
emphasised the importance of cricket as a unifying and inspiring force for the
youth in the region.
