Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): The Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) is set to revive the first cricket tournament that was organised in Dimapur with the co-operation of the family members of late Khurshid Hussain, under whose name the event was initiated.

An update from DDCA informed that the sporting event -- Late Khurshid Hussain Memorial Under-18 Cricket Tournament -- will be organised under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) at NCA stadium, Sovima from March 14 to the 20th. It added that the probable team for the district under-19 will be selected at the tournament.

The update informed that late Anwar Hussain, the only non-Naga minister in Nagaland, instituted the tournament in 1977 in honour of his eldest son Khurshid whose life was cut short by a tragic accident. It added that Khurshid's sisters -- Marina Khulu, Jesmina Zeliang and Sabrina Hussain -- have tied up with DDCA to revive the oldest tournament.
