- KOHIMA — The
annual sports week of Oking Christian School, Kohima, commenced on Tuesday.
- Attending the inaugural ceremony at Jubilee Hall, CBCK,
Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, encouraged
the students to embrace healthy physical exercise habits in their daily lives
to ensure physical fitness and sound mental health.
- He cited a World Health Organisation (WHO) report, which
stated that about 1 in 5 children suffer from mental health issues and urged
students to incorporate healthy exercise into their daily activities. He also
encouraged the students to support their parents in doing household chores
cheerfully.
- Touching on the National Education Policy 2020, Kenye said
that the integration of art, music, and sport is envisaged as key to achieving
holistic, competency-based quality education. Kenye urged the students to
always stay positive and embrace healthy habits.
- Earlier, the inaugural ceremony was led by Hanjile Jemu,
while Ketoulhoutuo delivered the welcome address. Y Ponie administered the oath
to the participating teams.
