Oking Christian School in Kohima celebrates Parents Day 2026 with guest speaker Kekhwengulo Lea at the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima premises.

DIMAPUR — Oking Christian School, Kohima, celebrated Parents’ Day 2026 on August 21 at the Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) premises with Kekhwengulo Lea, Chairman of the SMB, as the guest speaker.
Addressing the students, he encouraged the students to regard their minds as a precious gift from God and to approach learning with joy, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.
According to an update, speaking to the parents, Lea expressed appreciation for their love and continued support in the upbringing of their children. He emphasised the importance of parents understanding one another and understanding the emotions and needs of their children.
He stressed that the educational development of children is a joint venture between parents, teachers, the school, and the wider community.
Parents, he said, should give their children their attention, particularly during their formative years. He encouraged parents to persevere in their responsibilities diligently for the welfare of their children, and above all, trust in the Lord for their children’s future and success.
The celebration featured a variety of presentations by students, including Bible recitation with action, indigenous songs, solo and group songs, and a display of traditional attire representing different communities. A special tribute to parents was also presented by Petekhrienuo Solo of Class 10.
