- KOHIMA — A fire caused by an oil spill on
machinery at Jotsoma By-pass road above NH-29 in Kohima, destroyed property
worth approximately INR 10.5 lakh.
- The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Fire Station, Kohima,
Inspector Kelesezo Tsukru, told Eastern Mirror that the fire station received a
report about the incident at 5:11 pm, following which three fire tenders rushed
to the spot to douse the fire and bring it under control.

- He informed that the fire destroyed a machinery plant used
for road construction, including equipment for burning bitumen and a stone
crusher. The fire reportedly broke out while the substances were being heated,
and due to the oil spill, the machinery caught fire.

- While no casualties were reported, machinery worth about INR
10.5 lakh was destroyed in the incident.
- It was informed that fire personnel along with two fire
tenders from South Fire Station and one from North Fire Station, were pressed
in to action contain the fire.
