Officials in Dimapur test positive for Covid-19 via TrueNat

Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN):
One official from the Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Dimapur, was tested positive for Covid-19 through TrueNat on October 11.

Confirming this to Eastern Mirror, the Dimapur district surveillance officer, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, informed that the patient was tested positive through TrueNat but test result from RT-PCR was awaited. He, however, stated the test result would take around three to four days since the testing kits for RT-PCR has run out of stock.

One official from the Directorate of Food and Civil Supplies, Dimapur, informed that testing of primary contact numbering around 14 to 15 people would be conducted on October 13. The official also informed that the person, who was tested positive for Covid-19 through the TrueNat on October 11, attended a meeting on October 9.

The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, stated that an order was issued on October 12 for temporary sealing of the Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Dimapur, for 48 hours with immediate effect till further order.

In another case, one assistant commissioner from the Excise department was tested for Covid-19 on October 8 and the test result came positive through TR-PCR on October 12.

An official from the department informed that five other officials are being kept on home quarantine. He added that the test result of the five officials would be known after two to three days.

It may be mentioned that the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, Dr. Mereninla Senlem, had issued a statement that a staff from the commissioner of Excise office, Dimapur, was detected Covid-19 positive and recommended the deputy commissioner, Dimapur, to immediately seal the office for 48 hours.
