Officers sensitised on MSME competitive (Lean) scheme
The programme was organised by the National Productivity Council, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, in association with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland.
- DIMAPUR — A
one-day capacity building programme on MSME competitive (Lean) scheme for the
officers of Industries and Commerce department was held at the conference hall
of its directorate in Kohima on March 12.
- The objective of the programme was to create awareness and
further disseminate about the importance of the MSME competitive (Lean) scheme,
stated a DIPR report. The programme was organised by the National Productivity
Council, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, in association
with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland.
- In his opening remarks, the director of Industries and
Commerce, P Tokugha Sema, highlighted that the MSME competitive (Lean)
programme is a component of the Government of India’s initiatives to support
the MSME sector, which is a crucial supporter of India’s economic expansion
with the main aim to ‘Minimising waste and maximising values.’
- He stated that through the programme, they would see the
improvement in productivity, reduced wastage and enhanced quality in
manufacturing industries. He also requested the department officers to keenly
participate and obtain knowledge about the scheme as implementation would
solely depend on them.
- He further expressed gratitude to the National Productivity
Council for showing keen interest to skill the department officer by organising
the programme.
- In his keynote address, the regional director, Manoj Kumar
Verma, stated that MSME competitive (Lean) scheme (MCLS) is an initiative of
the Ministry of MSME to enhance the global competitiveness of micro, small and
medium enterprises (MSME) by promoting lean manufacturing techniques.
- He informed that the scheme is implemented through the
National Productivity Council (NPC), providing technical support and training.
- The deputy director of National Productivity Council, Subhra
Seal, made a powerpoint presentation on “Lean manufacturing technique, detailed
concept and eligibility to avail benefits of the scheme. He also informed that
enterprises have to be UDYAM registered MSME to avail the benefits.
