Officers empowered to requisition poll vehicles

Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): The chief secretary of Nagaland has issued a notification informing about delegation of powers to officers in requisitioning vehicles and places for election purposes. The government has informed that the state’s government has delegated to all the deputy commissioners, district election officers and additional deputy commissioners and district election officers of Pughoboto to act on behalf of the government in requisitioning vehicles, premises etc., for the conduct of the general elections to the Lok Sabha for 2019. “Any vehicle, premises etc. belonging to private person or institution/organization shall be entitled for compensation under Sec.161 of the RP Act 1951,” an update from the DIPR stated on Wednesday.
