Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on pig, dept. of LPM, NU SASRD, Medziphema campus, conducted an off campus awareness programme on the topic “de-worming of pigs” at Mezoma Village on Sep. 14.
The resource person Dr. Kekhrietsolie Keyho, spoke on importance of de-worming of pigs, schedules, dosage and administration methods to avoid under dose/overdose and how to get effective result of production through timely use of worm medicine.
He said re-infestation of worm is common due to unclean pig shed, therefore, daily removal of pig manure before feeding is essential were stressed by the resource person.
“Among domesticated animals pigs are the cleanliest animal, they usually urinate and defecates away from feeding and sleeping area if they are provided with clean and sufficient place,” he remarked.
