Odyuo clan general conference concludes

Dimapur, Dec. 22 (EMN): The additional commissioner of Taxes, Wochamo Odyuo, has urged his clansmen to persevere towards achieving self-reliance through dedication and innovation saying that government jobs will not make them self-sufficient.

Odyuo stated this while speaking at the 5th Odyutsu Ekhung conference that was conducted on December 17 in the GHSS compound in Bhandari town of Wokha district.

The event had hundreds of people from the clan from across the district and state.

Wochamo shared his experiences on how he decided to study with determination and made him rose to a higher level, updates stated. He also reminded all to support their children to let them choose their career for future prospect. He called upon all Odyuo members to unite in making the clan achieve bigger goal. This was stated in a press release issued by Odyutsu Ekhung information secretary Thunglamo Odyuo on Sunday.

Also, speaking on the occasion, director of Golden Crown Theological College, Dimapur, Rev. Dr. Nzan Odyuo, implored to first seek the kingdom of God, so that He will provide everything. He also insisted all to undertake research work to find out their lineage.

He thanked the Ekhung for providing him a platform to express his thoughts to the clan on how God loves him and living a happy life. Relating on how the Odyuo forefathers had visited each other from upper to lower ranges since time immemorial, he encouraged the gathering to follow their footsteps to build closer bond and relationship.

Other highlights of the programme included presentation of folk song by Khongthungia Odyuo and Longshithung Odyuo groups and modern song by Chandeno S Odyuo.

Convenor of search committee Dr. Rilathung Odyuo and secretary Chonbenthung Odyuo declared the newly selected/elected office bearers for the tenure (2020–2022). The new team is headed by K Mhonthung Odyuo as chairman, Er. Abemo Odyuo and Mhonbemo Odyuo as vice chairmen, Renjamo Odyuo as general secretary, Amos Odyuo as finance secretary, P Longshithung Odyuo and A Wojamo Odyuo as joint secretaries, P Yanbanthung Odyuo as treasurer, and Thunglamo Odyuo as information secretary.

The advisory board members were Thungjamo Odyuo, Wochamo Odyuo, Khonthungia Odyuo, Rakomo Odyuo and Nzinyimo Odyuo.
