Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): The odd-even rule for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur town and NH 29 till Chümoukedima town has not been extended for the month of December, according to official sources.
The previous order issued on November 1 by Dimapur Police expired on November 30, and since then, authorities have not extended the traffic arrangement that requires vehicles with registration numbers ending with odd and even numbers to ply on alternate days.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]According to the source, the odd-even traffic system in Dimapur was “definitely successful” as it ensured controlled movement of people as well as vehicles “up to some extent”, which ultimately resulted in easing traffic congestions.
Also, the source said that continuation of the odd-even traffic regulation in Dimapur would depend on the decision of the district task force, and that they have to take into consideration the festive season.
