
DIMAPUR— In view of the upcoming G20 Summit and in the interest of public convenience, the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, informed that odd-even scheme under Section 115 of Motor Vehicle Act would be enforced for all commercial vehicles in Kohima town on April 4 and 5 from 6 am to 9 pm.
The DC has issued this order following the decision taken during the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) meeting held on Friday. The commercial vehicles which would come under the ambit of odd-even scheme would include two and four wheeler taxis, pick-up/ Tata mobile, buses etc.
According to the order, vehicle with registration numbers ending with an odd digit 1,3,5,7,9 would ply on April 4, while the vehicles with registration numbers ending with an even digit 2,4,6,8,0 would ply on April 5.
It further stated that violators, if any, would be penalised under section 179 of the Motor Vehicle Amendment Act 2019.
