Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): The joint commissioner of Goods and Services Taxes, Bangalore, Government of India, and election expenditure observer, Soikhanthang, held a meeting with political parties of 6 Tening and 7 Peren assembly constituencies at Old Deputy Commissioner’s building, Peren, on February 2. Deputy commissioner and district election officer, Peren, Smita Sarangi, chaired the meeting.
In the meeting, Soikhanthang apprised on the ECI guidelines on the limit a candidate can spend for election purpose by maintaining a separate bank account. He directed all intending candidates/agents of recognised/ registered national and state political parties and unrecognised intending independents to follow the expenditure monitoring mechanism for election.
