Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) along with children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home (KODH) celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi Nov. 19. NPYC president Vilhousielie Kenguruse said soon after Indira Gandhi took over prime minister, she inherited ceasefire agreement and had six round of talks with FGN/NNC delegates. “The talks broke down but then during her term revolutionary government of Nagaland had signed and solve part of the problem. It was then, the NNO (forerunner of Congress party) joined INC with 10 points modalities, giving Nagaland a special place in the nation,” said Kenguruse. He also mentioned that Gandhi had given the highest respect to the Naga noble cause, during her life again in Shillong Accord, where over 700 political prisoners were released from various jails. She was fearless and able leader, he added. NPYC on behalf of all Congress men and women and the people of Nagaland paid solemn respect and remembered her in her 100th birth anniversary.
