NVWA undertakes goodwill visit to NGOs

EMN Dimapur, November 17 Nagaland Voluntary Women Association (NVWA) led by its president, Mrs Kaisa Rio, wife of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, visited the Miqlat Ministry and the Mother's Hope, in Dimapur on November 16 as a part of its year-long programme.In Miqlat Ministry, NVWA officials met the Director Miss Asha Sanchu and the staff. The members also got insight of the activities and purpose of the Miqlat Ministry. The Association also appreciated and acknowledged the works undertaken by the Director and her staff and for spearheading such a mammoth task of changing the lives of so many Naga women living in trying circumstances and thereby helping the Naga society as a whole. The Association also wished them success in any endeavour that the ministry takes up in the future. In Mothers Hope, the Association officials met the staff and nurses and the children. They interacted with the staff and received first hand knowledge on the working conditions at Mother's Hope and appreciated the contribution made by the organisation in providing basic care to the new born babies. The NVWA also made material contributions at both the organisation. It would be pertinent to mention that NVWA comprising of the Legislator's wives, lady officers as well as lady wives of government officers, both civil and police, over a period of years have been working consistently and contributing to various organisations and associations that are non profitable and working for the uplift of women in particular and the society in general. This was stated in a press release issued by the Association general secretary, Mrs Kakheli Jakhalu.
