Dimapur, June 21 (EMN): Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has denounced the appointment of Awan Konyak as chairperson of Nagaland state commission for protection of child rights (NSCPCR) and Lima Mayang as the state vigilance commissioner.
NVCO, in a press release issued by its media cell, argued that both of them were NDPP defeated candidates. It has also accused the PDA government of appointing people of their choice, who now enjoy the status in the rank of commissioner and secretary/ secretary/ joint secretary as well as non-legislator party workers as cabinet ministers and minister of state, legislators as advisors and as chairman. It felt that such appointments would affect the state exchequer and deprived the public shares meant for development etc.
NVCO president, Kezhokhoto Savi, has questioned the state government if those defeated NDPP candidates were qualified to hold such prestigious post in the state. It reminded that such posts in the past were held by retired officials who are matured and experienced.
