Dimapur, June 30: Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) members along with LL.B final year students led by its Professor in-charged, Kezhokhoto Savi, launched ‘Citizens right awareness campaign’ at Tyrannus Boys Hostel, below St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, on June 11.
The campaign was organised to sensitise on National Food Security Act as one of the main topic besides others such as Food Safety & Standard Act, RTI, Consumer Rights, Human Rights, Environment Protection, etc. NVCO made an appeal to every citizen that NFSA could be effectively implemented only when every citizen render its duty by extending co-operation to the department of Food & Civil Supplies, district administration, village authorities. It emphasized every citizen should strictly follow the system as per the Act in order to achieve total transparency and do away with corruption. This is the Act where every entitled citizen be AAY or PHH (Priority Household) would be getting rice at the rate of rs 3 per kg and wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg.

A team of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) led by its president Kezhokhoto Savi attended the launching programme of the National Food Security Act 2013 (NFSA) on June 27 in the Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies, Dimapur. The NVCO has been conducting awareness campaign on NFS Act 2013 since 2014.
