Dimapur, Dec. 18 (EMN): Re-enforcing its fight for the rights of the consumers, Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) detected that most of the motor parts shops were selling the items above the prescribed retail prices.
NVCO team made this observation during the inspection led by its president Kezhokhoto Savi in Kohima town on December 19. The team found that many motor parts shops were selling the items above MRP by removing the company’s original price tag.
NVCO team undertook the inspection as part of the week-long National Consumer Day, which is being observed from December 18 to 24.
In the light of the above observation, NVCO has requested the district administration/KMC to take necessary action to stop the excessive charges, adding charging on the price of goods and service during festive season is illegal and amounts to exploitation of consumer rights.
