Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): The first inter-campus sports meet of Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) was held from April 25 to 26 at SASRD, Medziphema Campus.
According to an update from the general secretary of NUNTSA, all four campuses viz., Lumami Campus, SET Dimapur Campus, SASRD Medziphema Campus and Meriema Campus, Kohima saw active participation during the two-day event.
The inter-campus sports meet was organised in commemoration of the year-long celebration of Nagaland University Silver Jubilee (1994-2019) under the theme “For a Vibrant Future”
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Abemo, Registrar of Nagaland University as the special guest who in his speech encouraged the non-teaching staff of all the campuses to participate with full spirit and also to foster and strengthen bonds between members of the four campuses.
The two-day sports event saw different games and sports such as tug of war, volleyball, penalty shootout, chess, carrom, badminton, and table tennis. An exhibition football match was also played where Pro Vice Chancellor XI beat Registrar XI 4-1.
The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. R.C Nayak, Pro Vice Chancellor of Meriema Campus who expressed his happiness for the successful completion of the event and also encouraged that such events be held on a regular basis to foster stronger bonds among the staff of the University. The overall champion of the inter-campus sports meet was bagged by NU: SASRD, Medziphema Campus. The best disciplined contingent was bagged by NU, SET, Dimapur Campus.
