KOHIMA, MAY 15: The community hall of Zhavachhi (New Zhavame) was inaugurated on May 13 by the Parliamentary Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Deo Nukhu. The new village, comprising of 84 households, has a population of almost 400 people.
Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary, Deo Nukhu, dwelt on the different aspects of development and urged upon the community to make use of the hall to develop themselves in various areas. He said the people of Zhavachhi, being a new village, has lot of scope to improvise their standard of living. In this regard, he emphasized on cleanliness saying every household should have a toilet by going for low cost latrine in bamboo structure.
He also encouraged them to plant fruit trees, which he said would not only beautify the village but also serve as healthy food. He further asserted on healthy living and impressed upon that the community hall could be used for several purposes such as holding fellowship services, tuitions for school children, etc.
Highlights of the event included invocation by Sarhünyi Krocha, Catechist of St. Xavier’s Church Zhavame; special song by Zhonyo Movi and friends; vote of thanks by Potokho Shupao; and benediction by Dizü Shupa, Pastor of Zhavame Baptist Church. VCC Zhavame, Vivotso Domeh chaired the function.
