Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): With an aim to infuse the ethical use of the internet, a two day workshop on ‘ethical hacking and cyber security’ was organised by the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University on Oct. 3 and 4 with Deepak K Nath from Robotech Labs Pvt. Ltd. as the resource person.
A press note received here on Saturday stated that the Dean of NU-SET, Prof. SK Sharma, who attended the opening ceremony, encouraged the students to learn hacking not only for knowledge but to improve their job prospects.
Emphasising on the difference between ‘white hat and black hat hackers’, Prof. Sharma urged the students to learn the skills so that they can be labelled as a ‘white hat’ rather than a ‘black hat’.
The faculty coordinator of the workshop, Shanchamo Yanthan talked about the importance of securing oneself in a digital world so that one can be better protected by knowing the loopholes of computer security system. Yanthan also thanked the NU Authority for approving and enabling the students to attend the workshop. Overall, 52 students attended the workshop including two participants from NIT Nagaland, the press note stated.
