Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): The Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami in a letter to Governor PB Acharya, reminded about his assurance given to the union during the meeting held on Sept. 6 2017.
A press release from the union president and general secretary stated that the governor had assured to improve sound system, install street lights, ATM booth, and construction of footpath towards girls’ hostel. While expressing their hope and trust upon governor, the union added that they are still waiting for the changes that the union had asked in their representation to governor.
“We don’t think that just occasional flying visit to Nagaland University, Lumami, would alter the all course of NU, Lumami and neither does it give a wing for an inch of advancement,” the letter read.
“We cannot find any footprint of any present days’ Honorable Chief Ministers of Nagaland within the boundaries of NU, Lumami, it’s neither seasonal nor occasional and that is not very phenomenal on the side of the state government to ignore the existence of Nagaland University,” the union stated. However, the union is optimistic that other voices would be heard. It also added that the students believe in the spirit ‘walk the talk no matter what the work’.
