DIMAPUR — A team of research scholars from the
Chemistry department of Nagaland University (NU), Lumami campus, achieved
significant recognition at the national convention of Chemistry teachers and
international conference on current advances in Chemical Science Research and
Education held from November 6 to the 9th at Mizoram University, Mizoram.
An update from the university stated the event witnessed
participation from renowned academicians and researchers from across the
country, offering a platform to showcase cutting-edge research.
It stated that scholars from Nagaland University stood out
with their exceptional contributions, earning accolades in key categories.
Suraj Kumar and Tsathrongla Sangtam received the best oral
presentation award, while Priyakshi Bora received the best poster award.
The award recipients were presented with cash prizes and a
one-year complimentary affiliate membership sponsored by the Royal Society of
Chemistry (United Kingdom).
While congratulating the research scholars for their
meritorious performance, the vice chancellor, Prof. JK Patnaik, has reaffirmed
institutional support for the scholars of the university to enable them to
pursue their research with full academic rigor.
Meanwhile, Prof. Upasana Bora Sinha, Head of Chemistry
department, also expressed pride in the scholars’ achievements, stating that
their success underscored the department's dedication to excellence in
research.
It further added that the scholars have expressed gratitude
to the university and their supervisors for the unwavering guidance and
support.
