DIMAPUR — Nagaland University’s Prof. Ambrish Singh was honoured with the ‘Distinction in Corrosion Science and Research’ Award for the year 2024 at CORCON-2024, Asia's largest conference dedicated to corrosion, on November 23 in Chennai.
The award includes a trophy, a certificate and INR 25, 000 cash prize. Prof. Singh was selected for the award from among the applicants that included central universities, IITs and NITs, an update from PRO, Nagaland University informed.
Prof. Singh received the award from Prof. Amir Elizier, University of Florida, USA, who is also a globally renowned scientist in the field of corrosion. Prof. Singh was also given a certificate and cash prize by Dr. AK Tiwari, RD division of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
“The recognition of Prof. Singh's work enhances his stature as a researcher and contributes to India’s reputation in global scientific and technological research, serves as inspiration for upcoming researchers, and illustrates the impact that innovation and dedicated research can have in addressing real-world challenges,” it stated.
Prof. Singh, who teaches in the Department of Chemistry at Nagaland University, is a prominent figure in the field of corrosion science. His research has advanced the understanding of corrosion mechanisms while also providing practical solutions to industry problems, thereby enhancing safety and efficiency across the sectors.
His wide experience includes a stint as a professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Southwest Petroleum University in Chengdu, China.
