Dimapur, October 15 : The Nagaland Taxation Service Association (NTSA) at the call of All India Confederation of Commercial Tax Associations will go on a mass casual leave on October 17. The decision to this effect was taken an emergency executive meeting held on October 13, an NTSA release issued by its president Tokatoli Sohe and general secretary M Yarenthung Yanthan said today.
The release said as per the national executive meeting held on September 26, the AICCTA had called for one day mass casual leave, Pan India, on October 17 against the GST Council's decision to keep the administration of Service Tax Assesses exclusively with the Central authorities and irrational distribution of power and functions between the Central GST officers and State GST officers.
A protest demonstration will also be held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi under the aegis of AICCTA on the day where two representatives from NTSA will be participating. In this context, the NTSA has appealed to State's representative to the GST Council meetings to project and impress upon the GST Council the legitimate demand of State's Commercial Tax official in the interest of the State's fiscal autonomy with the advent of the GST regime.
