DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Transparency Public
Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) (People's Justice)
condemned the statement by the water and sanitation (WATSAN) committees from
various villages under the PHED Rural Division of Nuiland and Chumoukedima
districts, along with the Dimapur Urban Division, for allegedly supporting the
Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) “illogically and blindly”.
In a press statement, the organisation said that it holds no
personal grudges against any individuals or organisations but is fighting a
just cause with proper evidence and documentary proof of the corrupt practices
that have taken place during the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)
across Nagaland, including the civil works undertaken under the JJM.
It called upon the present PHED chief engineer, Leyang
Khiamnuingan, and top officials to control unruly elements "within the
PHED's ecosystem and sphere of influence" in order to achieve a peaceful
settlement and set the matter right.
The NTPRADAO (People's Justice) further stated that should
the remaining central JJM funds be stopped by the Jal Shakti Ministry,
government of India, and the pending bills be withheld, the NTPRADAO (People's
Justice) group shall "not take responsibility whatsoever," since the
PHED is intentionally delaying the establishment of the already officially
announced SIT/DIC.
It appealed to the general public in Nagaland to extend its
moral support and solidarity to the organisation “so that corruptions can be
collectively exposed and corrective measures be initiated and taken”.
It also reiterated and vowed to continue its fight against
the PHED until a significant and impactful logical conclusion is reached.
