DIMAPUR — The
National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland State, has condemned the
behaviour of Professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti from the department of Zoology,
Nagaland University (NU), for his alleged physical assault on a female
colleague.
In a press statement, the NSUI Nagaland stated that, as an
educator, Yenisetti has grossly betrayed the trust and integrity of his
position, displaying a shocking lack of decency, professionalism, and respect
for his colleagues. It emphasised that such actions are utterly unacceptable in
society and warrant severe consequences.
It further stated that this was not an isolated incident, as
many students have reportedly had unpleasant experiences with him in the past.
The union demanded his immediate and unconditional termination from his post to
prevent any future recurrence of such appalling behaviour.
The NSUI Nagaland stated that it would ensure this case is
brought to a logical conclusion to uphold the dignity and safety of both
faculty members and students.
