DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB), in collaboration with the NGO Reaching Hand, organised a park cleanup initiative on July 20.
This first-of-its-kind event for NSUB brought together Naga students, working professionals, local governing bodies, and Reaching Hand volunteers to restore and beautify one of Bangalore’s green spaces, Dr. Rajkumar Park, the NSUB stated in a press release.
NSUB president Nungsangmongla Ozukum expressed and satisfaction with the initiative.
“This project is very close to our hearts. For over five decades, the Naga community has found a second home here in Bangalore. It’s time we give back to the city that has embraced us with open arms. This cleanup drive is our way of showing gratitude and contributing to the well-being of our environment,” Ozukum said.
The collaboration with Reaching Hand provided essential logistical support, ensuring the event's success. Local residents who witnessed the cleanup expressed their appreciation for the efforts towards the restoration of the park, the release stated.
The NSUB went on to mention that union plans to continue its environmental initiatives and expand its partnership.
“We hope to expand such collaborations and that this effort will inspire others to take similar actions,” the NSUB president added.
