Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) has announced the results of its annual literary online competition held from July 6 to the 25th on the theme ‘Towards resilience: for better tomorrow.’
NSUB, in a press release, informed that the competitions were held among the 14 sub-units of the NSUB under three events – essay writing, drawing and painting, and slam poetry.
The literary team stated that the main objective of the competition was to bring the Naga community closer to literature and its universal appeal.
“It is an event that will foray an opportunity to engage in literary enriching activities by providing a platform for those individuals with special talents, a chance to extend themselves and grow in their area of expertise, and by instilling in them the appreciation of literary activities,” it stated.
The topics in each of the competitions were based on the event’s theme. The essay competition was segregated into two categories, category 1 (undergraduate and below) on the topic “Towards resilience: a post-COVID response," and category 2 (postgraduate, research scholars, and others) on the topic “Unemployment crisis: the future of Naga youth.”
The topic for slam poetry was “Being Naga,” while the drawing and painting competitions were made open for high school students under two categories namely category 1 for classes 1 to 5 on the theme “Our surroundings and nature" and category 2 for classes 6 to 10 competed on the theme “Save Mother Earth.”
NSUB literary team announced that the winners would be awarded a cash prize and gift hampers at the forthcoming NSUB freshers' meet to be held on September 17.
