
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd (NStCB) on Wednesday inaugurated its 23rd branch office at Shamakok complex in PPC ward, Longleng town, with the deputy commissioner (DC) of Longleng, Dharam Raj, as the special guest.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the DC described the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank as people's bank as its prime motive was to help the people financially and it not for profit motive. He stated that development will happen only when there is financial inclusion, stated a DIPR report.
He stated that the bank would follow all the guidelines but have some flexibility, unlike other banks. He added that Nagaland State Cooperative Bank would provide better services and loans with better interest and called upon the citizens to make best use of the opportunity.
In his keynote address, the ban general manager, Jonah Sema, highlighted various schemes and initiatives launched by the bank. He stated that the 23rd branch office located at the heart of Longleng town represented not just the structure but hope for financial empowerment and progress for the vibrant community of Longleng town. He expressed his gratitude to all individuals who have worked tirelessly to make the dream a reality.
Short speeches were delivered by the vice chairman of NStCB, H Kashito Yepthomi; president of Phom People's Council (PPC), YB Angam Phom; president of Village Council Chairmen and Village Development Board Association District Longleng, C Ngampu Phom and director of Hope Channel (NGO), Tiakala Amri.
The programme was chaired by NStCB assistant general manager, Mhathung Khuvung, while ARCS of Longleng, Atongba, delivered the vote of thanks and the dedicatory prayer was said by the executive secretary of Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), N Tialemba Phom.
