
Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): A mobile automated teller machine (ATM) of the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB), which was supported under financial inclusion fund from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), was flagged off by the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, on August 18.
An update from the chief manager and nodal officer, Nchumthung Kikon, informed that the mobile ATM was the first in Kohima district and second after Dimapur. He added that the ATM van would cover all rural areas.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the deputy commissioner thanked Nabard for the assistance and to the state cooperative bank for bringing such a platform for reaching out to the rural areas. He expressed confidence that it would help fill the leakage of expenses incurred by the rural people in reaching the bank and also save a day’s labour.
He further expressed happiness as the mobile ATM would provide banking facilities at the door-step.
The mobile ATM was flagged off in the presence of ADC, NStCB vice chairman, DDM Nabard and the banking fraternity of Kohima district.
