Dimapur, June 8
Nagaland State Training Centre (NSTC), a joint venture of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB) and Manpower Development and Management Institute (MDMI), Shillong, has conducted a two day workshop in the NSCB’s conference hall, Dimapur, on June 5 and 6 with the participation of 59 members from Self Help Groups (SHGs).
The workshop was inaugurated by Director of MDMI in the presence of management officials of NSCB including Managing Director S Atovi Sema, special officer BK Thadani, General Manager (admn) Imtilemba Longkumer, Officiating Manager (Cr) Bendang Nungsang and DGM (Cr) Remwang Chewang as well as other senior officers.
Addressing the inaugural function, Dr. Dutta has lauded the role of NSCB for extending credit linkages to a large number of SHGs and JLGs in the State.
S Atovi Sema, who introduced Dr. Dutta, said Dr. Dutta was always in the forefront of Cooperative movement and played yeoman services to the cause of cooperatives of the northeast.
BK Thadani said Dr. Dutta has dedicated his entire life for the development of Cooperative movement in the region. He has termed Dr. Dutta ‘Vikunth Metha’ of the northeasr. He expressed confidence that Dr. Dutta presence and setting up of Nagaland State Training Centre would immensely benefit the cooperative institutions and SHGs/ JLGs of the State.
The workshop dealt with micro finance, financial inclusion growth, role of SHGs, JLGs, farmers clubs etc and maintenance of their books and records as well as other matter concerning progress and development SHGs, JLGs and cooperatives.
