Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, Longleng District conducted a district level orientation programme on livelihoods at the MIS Hall, DRDA on July 3.
Deputy Commissioner of Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam encouraged the staff and community to be responsible and be willing to accept the improved practises both under agriculture and livestock practices. He also said to have assured to extend necessary support to the mission for the successful implementation of the programme. A press release received here on Wednesday from the mission stated.
National Resource Person Lutfur Rahman, highlighted the objectives and key areas to focus on livelihoods perspective.
The district functional specialist Simon Phom and Lemjan Phom presented the livelihood activities plan to be implemented for the FY 2018-19 under Longleng and Tamlu block.
The program was attended by officials from the department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary services, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, DRDA and village key stakeholders.
The same programme was also conducted on June 30 at Tourist Lodge in Dimapur by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), department of Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Dimapur.
According to a DIPR report on Wednesday, the project director of DRDA, Atokhe Aye, spoke on the importance of the mission and also about Mahila Kisan Sashakthikaran Pariyojana which is about to impact a lot on the lives of farm based activities for the self help groups under NSRLM. He also encouraged the community service providers to work sincerely.
