NSRLM mission director visits DMMU Wokha

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) Mission Director (MD), Athel O Lotha, visited District Mission Management Unit Wokha (DMMU) for follow-up discussion on the status and challenges of Chukitong RD Block as resource block and way forwards, on Sep. 15. While speaking on the challenges of the Chukitong resource block, Athel stressed that resource blocks must achieve various criteria to be an ideal resource block under NRLM, however, keeping in view of the size of the block with less number of functional SHGs. She also urged the staff and community cadres to re-mobilize the defunct SHGs and form new SHGs wherever possible in all villages under Chukitong block. She further mentioned that, new blocks has been taken up to implement NRLM program in the district, where resource block has a vital role in providing on ground trainings on various thematic functions and roles of the mission. She reiterated that, the resource block must established model SHGs and their own sustainable Institutions to attain resource block status. Assistant District Program Manager (ADPM), Wokha NSRLM, Samuel Kithan presented the progress of implementation on various programmes specified targets of Chukitong and Wokha block detail analysis for resource block viability. PD, DRDA cum District Mission Manager (DMM) NSRLM, Thungdeno Mozhui, her welcome address, shared about the challenges of NRLM resource block keeping in view of the current status. BDOs of Chukitong, Changpang, Bhandari and SO of Sanis along with DMMU staff and block program managers also attended the meeting.
