
Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted a two-day job mela for trainees who are undergoing training on various trades at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) centres on Dec. 17 and 18.
The mela was held to enable the state team to facilitate the process of job interview, to provide a platform for DDU-GKY trained youths as well as employers to choose the best potential candidates from the pool of trained youths, an update on Monday informed.
Some of the companies that participated in the interview were Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa.; Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, Bangalore; Leela Hotel, Bangalore; Royal County, Dixcy Textiles Pvt. Ltd, Tirupur; Silvercrest Clothing Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore; Ethno Creations, Dimapur Nagaland.
Over 100 candidates got an offer letter from the two-day job mela while interviews were conducted in offline and online mode, it informed.
It may be mentioned that Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a demand-driven placement-linked skill training initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), Government of India. DDU-GKY is uniquely focused on rural youths between the ages of 15 and 35. In Nagaland, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) is the nodal agency for implementation of DDUGKY, it added.
