Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has informed that it will be setting up Lok Adalat (people’s court) in all the district court premises on July 14. Public are asked to settle their disputes / cases.
The nodal officer for National Lok Adalat, Nungsang C Jamir has informed that the Lok Adalat will be held all over the State as part of the National Lok Adalat which will be observed throughout the nation. NALSA and district legal services authorities are setting up preparatory arrangements for conducting the National Lok Adalat state-wide.
For any emergency, citizens may contact the office of the NSLAS located at DC office Compound in Kohima.
The types of cases which can be taken up for settlement are Labour disputes cases; electricity and water bills (excluding non-compoundable), Others (criminal compoundable, matrimonial and other civil disputes), criminal compoundable offence; NI Act cases under Section 138; bank recovery cases; MACT cases; labour disputes cases; electricity and water bills (excluding non-compoundable); matrimonial disputes; land acquisition cases; service matters relating to pay and allowances and retiral benefits; revenue cases (pending in district courts and high courts only); other civil cases (rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance suits) etc.
Citizens are informed that for listing matters in the National Lok Adalat on July 14 which are pending in the high courts / district courts (other than at the Supreme Court of India) whether at pre-litigation stage or pending, the individual / counsel (lawyer) may send his / her consent (or) contact the member secretary NSLSA (or) approach the secretary/chairman of your district legal services authority which are attached to the district court building in every districts or the concerned court immediately for referring the case to the National Lok Adalat.
