Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) will conduct the 4th quarterly and final National Lok Adalat (people’s courts) for 2022-2023 in all the district headquarters on November 12.
An update from NSLSA informed that a total of 12 Lok Adalat benches at District Court premises and High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC) would be set up by the district legal services authority (DLSA) and HCLSA.
It mentioned that Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms and a forum where cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled or compromised speedily and amicably. It added that National Lok Adalat is held on a quarterly basis and has benefited the citizens with the privilege of settling disputes at free of cost all across the state.
Persons having dispute/ cases (pre-litigation and pending) on civil, matrimonial, MACT and petty offence cases are asked to come forward on the day or submit their disputes before the date at DLSA front offices, District Court building and NSLSA member secretary’s office, DC’s office compound or contact its officials on phone no. 0370-2290153 or email at nslsa.nagaland@gov.in.
It stated that a total of 230 cases amounting to INR 4,29,66,737 were settled during the 3rd quarterly National Lok Adalat held on August 13.
