NSF urged the Centre to expedite Naga peace talks and restore normalcy amid regional unrest during an MHA meeting
DIMAPUR — The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) on Thursday urged the Centre to expedite the long-pending Naga peace process, while also expressing concern over the prevailing violence and unrest in the region, particularly the Naga-Kuki conflict in Manipur.
An NSF press release informed that its delegation met Ajit Lal, Advisor (Northeast) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau, in New Delhi and appealed for an early political resolution to the Naga issue.
According to the federation, the delegation briefed the MHA advisor on the prevailing security situation and stressed the urgent need to restore normalcy and peace in the region.

The NSF also urged the Centre to sincerely carry forward the ongoing peace talks and bring them to a logical and early conclusion, while remaining sensitive to the aspirations and sentiments of the Naga people.
Ajit Lal gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the concerns raised would be looked into, the NSF stated.
