KOHIMA — Winning the second semi-final match, Asüfü Football Academy (AFA) has sealed its spot in the final of the 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy on Thursday.

The tournament, organised by the Angami Students' Union, is being held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, in memory of Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü and Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü.

In a closely contested match between Circle FC Chedema and AFA, the latter emerged victorious with a score of 2-1.

Bijoy Moktan opened the scoring for AFA in the 17th minute, but VS Zimik equalised in the 29th minute. Neither team managed to score in the latter part of the first half or the second half. It was only in the 104th minute that P Sorormi Thinsang scored a goal for AFA, sealing the berth for the final.

The player of the match award was given to Gachüwo S Tara, the custodian of Asüfü Football Academy. Cautions were issued to Korouhanba Laishram of AFA and Toka Achumi, Kipgen Thong, and Seilenla Daniel of Circle FC Chedema.

Neingutoulie Kengurüse, councillor of Ward 2, Dimapur Municipal Council, witnessed the match as the match patron. With the win, Asüfü Football Academy will face Sechü Zubza FC in the final on October 5 at 1 pm.
