Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) on Monday has urged the chief minister and the Cabinet to reach at an amicable solution to the issue of ‘reservation and reservation policies’ before February 15, 2021.
"Thereafter, the federation will be compelled to take up actions in conformity with the democratic principles in order to ensure that aspirations of the youth and students community of the state if upheld," an update informed.
NSF has further reiterated its stand on the proposed ban of departmental exams for recruitment to various group C posts under department of Public Health Engineering scheduled to be held on January 13, 2021.
According to the statement, NSF stated that it 'cannot allow the proposed exam to take place as it is convinced that the proposed departmental exam undermines the very principle of meritocracy which the federation has been staunchly advocating for the last many years'.
The NSF further stated that it "defeats the very principle of providing a level playing field to everyone aspiring to serve the state government as a group C employee by constituting the NSSB".
The federation has warned the department concerned that if any action in defiance of its stand is initiated, the officials of the department would be held responsible for any unwanted consequences thereafter.
It has also appealed to all the candidates to cooperate with the federation and abstain themselves from the proposed departmental examination.
