Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has decided to keep its agitation against the state government’s “inaction” to establish a Staff Selection Board in abeyance. A statement from the federation on Monday informed all its federating units that the government of Nagaland has assured it is actively pursuing the matter of setting up of the Nagaland State Selection Board, which will be tasked with the responsibility of recruiting grade III employees. According to the NSF, the state government had informed that the draft proposal was placed as an agenda in the October 18 Cabinet meeting and a committee headed by Sentiyanger Imchen, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, was decided to be formed to examine the modalities in detail. “The federation would like to place on record, our appreciation to Chief Minister Nephiu Rio and his esteemed Cabinet colleagues for responding to the aspirations of the Naga youths and students towards promoting meritocracy by setting up a committee on the same,” read the statement. Also, it appealed to the newly constituted committee “to examine the matter on its true merit and accordingly forward its recommendation to the state government within the stipulated time”.
