A delegation from Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) who are currently in Delhi, has met with some key national leaders including the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and highlighted the need to speed up the talks in resolving the protracted Naga political issue.
In a release today, the NSF stated that its team has impressed upon the Home Minister to take personal initiatives in bringing permanent peace as the Naga people, especially the youth are anxiously waiting for the outcome of the ongoing political dialogue.
“The Federation shared that keeping pending of this particular issue will not only disturb the minds of the Nagas and the Northeastern people but it will also continue to haunt the minds of the Indian leadership” the release said.
It stated that the NSF team also met the interlocutor for Indo-Naga peace talks, RN Ravi and while appreciating his sincerity and seriousness in solving the long pending Naga political issue, they also appraised him the need to speed up the talk.
On Tuesday, the team is said to have met the Chairman of North East MPs Forum, PA Sangma and appealed for his intervention and cooperation in resolving the protracted Indo-Naga political issue. “The Federation believes that a positive gesture from the entire North East Members of Parliament would definitely boost the morale of the Government of India to seek an honourable solution not only to the Nagas but also to the various political groups in the North East India,” the release further stated.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that the NSF team will be meeting some more leaders at the national capital.
