NSF holds pre-Christmas children’s of three homes

Correspondent Kohima, December 18 The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) celebrated advent Christmas in a meaningful and emotional manner by bringing smiles on the faces of the children’s of three orphanage homes in the State capital – Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home, Mt. Gilead Home and Bright Morning Star Children Home, Paramedical at the Naga Solidarity Park.Extending Christmas greetings, NSF president Tongpang Ozukum said that the purpose of having Christmas with the children is to let them know that they are not orphans but they too belong to one big family of God. He said true Christmas is about sharing love with others and called upon all men to share the love of God with everyone. Hoping that this festive season brings the dawn of an era of peace and tranquility in the Naga society, Tongpang appealed the Naga national workers to shun all form of violence and killing among the different groups. “We hope this Christmas brings a new era of long lasting peace and tranquility, which Nagas have been aspiring for past many years,” he hoped. “Let us all have a meaningful Christmas to cherish for the life time,” he wished while conveying best seasonal greetings to the Naga people. Sharing the Christmas message, NBCC Secretary Education and Communication, Dr Botoholi said that advent Christmas with children from various orphanage homes in Kohima is a unique one with a special experience for herself. She reminded the children that they are not alone or without parents but God has given them a gift to be loved by everyone. Relating Christmas message to the Star of Bethlehem that appeared when Christ was born that first Christmas, she encouraged the children to believe in the love of God and look up to the Star as a guide from the Lord. The NSF also shared Christmas gifts with the children while Naga Hoho extended financial support to the homes for Christmas celebrations. Chaired by NSF secretary information and publicity, Krelo the celebrations commenced with Associate Pastor of Lotha Baptist Church K Benry Lotha pronouncing the invocation. Kid of Bright Morning Star Children Home shared testimony, NSF general secretary Esther Rhakho shared the presentations which was handed over by NSF Trobunal General K. Andrew Yhome while Assistant General Secretary Kesosul Christopher Ltu tendered the words of gratitude. Children from the three homes and Imtiwapong Jamir presented special numbers enthralling gathering consisting of leaders from Naga Hoho, NPMHR and senior student activists. Tuensang DPDB members celebrate advent Christmas The Tuensang District Planning & Development Board meeting cum advent Christmas programme was held on December 14 at the DC’s bungalow attended by elected members of the NLAs of Tuensang district including minister, School Education, CM Chang, parliamentary Secretary, Jail, HG, VGs, DBs/GB, Kejong Chang, chairman NBRM, Toyang Changkong Chang and MLA, Imtilemba Sangtam along with district departmental officers and representatives of various NGOs of the district. All the legislative members present in the programme shared on the Christian way of life and the celebration of Christmas from different point of views. Dr Rev Chingmak Chang delivered the Christmas message in which he urged all the administrative officers and departmental officers to be wise and vigilant like the three wise men mentioned in the parables. He added that the administrative and district officers will be successful in planning and implementation of developmental works only if they co-operate to work. He also encouraged them to continue keeping hope to have a meaningful year end and to welcome the coming year. Rev. P Akhum, Pastor, Yimchunger Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings. Gabriel Ministry and Alemba presented the Christmas carol and special number during the programme. T. Chubayanger, Project Officer, Department of Labour, Government of Nagaland highlighted on the introduction of the Nagaland Building and Construction Workers’ Welfare Board. He explained the salient features of the welfare scheme, its benefits and importance. He also explained the advantages of getting registered with the NBCWWB and its benefits. (DIPR) C5 Chapter to be silver on Dec 20 Since the birth of the Children’s Christmas Cake Carol Competition, popularly tagged as C5 Way back in 1989, a new chapter had unwrapped in Mokokchung. In effect, the impact has been far and wide to the extent of a turnout of close to 10,000 in attendance. 2013 is the 25th year of the C5 and will be held on December 20 from 2pm onwards at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, unlike the previous years. The silver jubilee edition is more elaborate in terms of planning, budgeting and programming. Highlights of the silver jubilee edition of the C5 include the 70x70, Rena Boys, neighbouring churches as guests and C5 alumni with different presentations. As noble as it was when it started, the C5 has come a long way with the silver jubilee theme, ‘Christmas Miracle’ and there lies still a world of miracles beyond the 25th edition, a press note from the CCCCC organizing committee stated. STATE BJP: Parliamentary secretary, Transport and Communication P Paiwang Konyak, hosted the BJP Nagaland Advent Christmas Celebration on December 18 at Kisama, Kohima. All the BJP members of the state attended the function in the serene and quiet environ of post hectic Hornbill festival. K Vihoshe, Gen. Secretary (Adm) chaired the meet wherein Sopu Angami, vice president accorded a warm welcome to all the members. The Mahila led by president, Ms Sano Ngullie presented the Christmas hymn and cut the Christmas cake while Johnny G Rengma, national vice president, BJP ST Morcha extended the Christmas greetings. Dr M Chuba Ao, president, BJP Nagaland, delivered the fellowship message and emphasized on the values and meaning of the most important day of the human history. The event was however marked by the absence of P Paiwang Konyak, the host, who was unable to attend the same as he was hospitalized for the last two days. He was later released from the Bethel hospital later in the evening in good health. The party has prayed for his quick recovery and extended their gratefulness for hosting the event for the most important celebration. KDCC greetings: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has extended its Christmas greetings to all the people of the state wishing that the birth of Christ our Savior be a cause for celebration.’ ‘May you fill his loving spirit in your heat day after day. ‘Have a dazzling Christmas and a great year ahead,’ a KDCC press note stated while informing that the office would be closed from December 20 till January 10, 2014.
