Kohima, Oct. 30 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Wednesday started its first phase of “democratic agitation’ against the state government’s failure to comply with its demands to set up a Staff Selection Broad (SSB) in the state. Schools and colleges participated in the agitation by wearing black badges.
Student body leaders and principals of some institutions said that they would carry out the agitation in their respective institutions by putting on black bands and badges as per the notice received.
Speaker of NSF, Rite Khutso told Eastern Mirror that they have taken up the agitation as the government of Nagaland failed to respond to its memorandum and ultimatum. “By hook or by crook, we will force the government till the demand is fulfilled,” he stated.
“With positive outcome from the government, agitation will be cancelled but agitation will be intensified if we are not satisfied with the progress,” he added.
He informed that the federating units and subordinates are leading the agitations in their respective jurisdictions and have been directed to forward “a compliance report accompanied by pictorial/video proof” to its office before November 3. He has also requested the students to put on the black band or badge until further directive from the office of the NSF.
