Informs citizens not to panic
Dimapur, April 10 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA-Home Department) has announced to conduct Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) in collaboration with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on April 26. The information was received from the department on Tuesday.
According to the information, the NEPEx is a “State-wide mega mock exercise” to test the capability of the government of Nagaland to respond and manage any “mega impending disaster.”
As a preparatory to this event, a review meeting is being convened for the AHODs /HoDs and DDMAs officials on April 12 at 11 am at ATI in Kohima.
The department has requested public not to panic during the mock drill as it is only an exercise to test the capability of the government to handle any disasters. The exercise should also not be taken as a sign of an impending disaster. It is also requested to the public to refrain from spreading rumours which may cause undue fear psychosis,’ the information added.
