The award was presented by the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) during its eighth edition event at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Saturday. Sudhanshu Pandey, election commissioner of Union Territories, presented the award to the chairperson.
"I am honoured to receive this Prestigious recognition Award and I am grateful to the INBA for recognising me among many outstanding women across diverse fields," Nginyeih shared with Eastern Mirror on being presented the award.

Dedicating the award to the NSCW family, she noted that the award is a testament to their effort, hard work and contributions.
Women's empowerment, she observed, does not happen in policy but in practice. Women should cultivate and foster their own identity rather than relying solely on others, she said, adding that confidence is highly empowering.
Nginyeih was honoured for her distinguished service as Chairperson of the NSCW and recognised for her efforts in advancing gender justice, protecting women's rights, and fostering women's empowerment in Nagaland and beyond.
She will also be featured in a coffee table book series dedicated to honouring exceptional women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, resilience, and impact across diverse fields.
