Dimapur, Jan 30: NSCN (Reformation) has changed the name of its Ponghong designated camp to “Tekang Designated Camp” during its cabinet sitting on January 28. Tekang designated camp is situated on hill top of Tekang River.
There was controversy in regards to the name of Ponghong Designated camp as “POA-HOA, PO-HO and PONGHONG” to suit the local tunes of different village languages.
Since, the cabinet decision have changed its name from “Ponghong Designated camp” to “Tekang Designated Camp,” NSCN (R) advised all the agencies both central and state to make official intimation in the name of the latter.
It also advised district administration, security forces and ceasefire supervisory board to address it as “Tekang Camp”.
