DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung group), reacting to a
press statement titled "Khiamniungan Region Unites into NSCN-K
(Angmai)", has termed the “defection drama published by the Angmai group”
totally absurd and misleading.
In a rejoinder, the group stated that the Khiamniungan
region under NSCN/GPRN is perfectly safe and strong under the current regional
authority and that the region’s members, led by its region chairman and region
guard commander, pledge to continue upholding Naga national sovereignty under
the leadership of President Yung Aung, regardless of circumstances.
“It is a wonder of wonder that this group has the guts to
talk about Naga sovereignty when their only agenda is to seek a mere
development package from the Myanmar military. They will contribute nothing
good for the betterment of Nagas rather than loot the public in the name of
development,” it read.
It further stated that, presently, the “Angmai group and
their proxies are conniving with the military junta” to jeopardise the Naga
area and that any misstep by these groups will not be overlooked. They will be
held responsible for any blunder or shame brought to the Eastern Naga people.
