DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14
THE National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has taken a serious view of the Union Home Joint Secretary North East in-charge Shambhu Singh’s statement, carried in this paper on December 13,expressing his displeasure over the NSCN-IM’s attempt to ‘use his statement out of the context to serve their ulterior motive’.The MIP of NSCN/GPRN, in a release today, said Shambhu Singh’s press statements appeared in the local newspapers, The Sangai Express on December 10 and 11, 2013 under the captions “Delhi-NSCN (IM) political dialogues No immediate solution in sight: Shambhu Singh” and “In a democracy, all stakeholders need to be involved: Shambhu”. On the basis of these reports, the NSCN has responded its position and at the same time questioned Shambhu Singh’s ‘unwarranted statements’, the release said.
Stating that it has been officially understood that the competent Indian authority to give statements on the Indo-Naga political talks would only be the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Interlocutor, the NSCN/GPRN asked is Shambhu Singh above the government of India.
Also, asking what is his idea about “their ulterior motive”, the NSCN said it will be a wise move on his part to restrain himself from talking on the Indo-Naga political talks.
“Why Mr. Shambhu Singh never hesitates to point his finger to NSCN? He should blame himself for his unwarranted statements and clarify himself to The Sangai Express for misquoting or distorting his statements,” it said.
