The National Socialist Council of Nagaland led by Y. Wangtin Naga and P.Tikhak has been named as National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Reformation) or NSCN(R) whereas its government will be known as Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland or GPRN. A statement issued by Y.Wangtin Naga and P.Tikhak said, the resolution was taken unanimously at a joint council meeting in Mon attended by members from both Naga army and civil set up under the chairmanship of Wangtin.
The NSCN(R) GPRN said, when all the Naga people are praying and fasting ceaselessly to God to grant peace in the Naga homeland, where peace has been evading for the last more than half a century, it is quite understandable that the Naga people will not be able to accept a new political outfit when there is already a plethora of NPGs.
NSCN(R) GPRN assured the people that its primary agenda would be to develop a sense of brotherhood among the Naga family and also to rebuild the trust and faith among the Naga society. It also assured to give opportunity to all like- minded people who would contribute for the peace, progress and prosperity of the Naga people through peace and reconciliation.
“We would also like to give opportunity to all the Naga people, NGO’s , social organization, intellectuals and leaders of various tribal councils to share their ideas in building a renewed Naga society. It will also be our humble effort to run the party without becoming a liability to the people.”
NSCN-K slams Wangtin for ‘issuing tax notices’
NSCN-K has alleged that in no less than a week after his expulsion from the GPRN, Wangtin Naga has started issuing notices all over Nagaland to pay donations and taxes levied by the NSCN-K.
A statement issued by MIP NSCN-K said, “True to his nature as con artist and master fraudster in no less than a week after his expulsion from the GPRN, Wangtin Naga has started issuing notices to HoDs, business community and sympathisers all over Nagaland to pay him donations.”
Cautioning all the concerned to be aware of ‘such criminal trickster’ at large using the name of NSCN-K authority, the statement said, “Such is a quality of a person who claims to be a crusader of peace and reconciliation and has been fooling Nagas ever since.”
The NSCN-K asserted that it will not take into account any form of transaction with Wangtin Naga.
